Through family, Chris Germain’s involvement with violins and traditional music started early in life. Ever since, he has followed his violin and community-building passions to the extreme serving roles as President of the Violin Society of America, the American Federation of Violin and Bow Makers as well as assisting in organizing and teaching the Oberlin Violin Restoration Program (over 30 years) … all while building his extraordinary instruments. Chris is also co-author of The American Violin – an exhibition at The Library of Congress tracing the history and art of violin and bow making in the US.
