A first-place fiddler in the 1998 Clifftop Senior’s Division, today, Shay Garriock builds the violins of his dreams. Based in Pittsboro, NC, Shay carries on a family tradition of mechanical acumen, first learned from his father. Destined to be a tradesman, Shay followed his father and grandfather’s footsteps, learning and working “hands-on.” He found even deeper roots to his love of building violins when he discovered there was a fiddler from the family years ago in ancient Orkney, Scotland.
